Can’t Stop Won’t Stop mural in San Francisco

At the edge of Union Square, down a narrow Claude Lane, a classic hip hop mural “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” can be heard. This larger-than-life boombox mural is both a tribute to hip hop culture and a declaration of energy, resilience, and joy.

Designed and produced by 1AM Projects with artist Gaelen Smith, the mural is in partnership with Future Bars and the Union Square Alliance, with generous funding support from Levi’s. The mural’s bold colors and oversized speakers radiate the spirit of hip hop, while a San Francisco skyline at its center ties the message to the city. As Claude Lane evolves into a new entertainment hub, this mural stands as an anchor and reminder that whatever happens in life, the beat goes on.
